It was 100% done in mechanics - bugfixing, and adding a few items and almost scrapped 100% Pride being Namco not explaining through Hadra the situation being caused by a economic crisis and bad luck by natures call.Īnd Ignorance for people assuming and not looking into the reasons and relation in the time frame. I will say Ignorance and pride are what caused the confusion to the fans for SCV. It judging by the story was probably going to be the last of the story and go into team based mechanics Judging from the Single player tag modes as well as SCIV tag testing. It was a unfinished team project between Hadara and Team soul. Mechanics wise it was awesome, but again it was petitioned to be released and even outside of JP. Budget wise and 1\2 incomplete story it was broken. the patches and updates were also costly on Xbox 360 at the time. It was more the issue of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Well here's the fact, SC 5 sold so poorly that Namco admitted that if SC 6 didn't do better, the Soulcalibur franchise was done. I remember this debate back from when SC 5 was released, those few like Priestess who still defend that piece of garbage try to desperately spin things around and normalise mediocrity. but the story was atrocious, and they left out some fan favorite characters and unlikable protaganist.Īs for the topic i can't point out a favorite but 4 and 5 did have credit for actually needing to play the game to unlock most characters. while it wasn't the greatest game and has a ton of issues, it did have some good aspects about it. I just feel curious, why Soul Calibur V was so close to kill the franchise? What had that game so bad as to do that?ĭon't take people like him serious, there is always some one who claims a specific number in the series "killed the franchise" you get that with most fanboys in like other games such as resident evil. Some people say that about V, but the gameplay seems way faster than Soul Calibur IV. What about you? What Soul Calibur do you prefer? It's harder to compare with Soul Calibur II and III, I really loved those but I was too young. For now it could be my favorite Soul Calibur. It brings me good story lines, with fast fighting mechanics and decent designs. Siegfried didn't actually needed Soul Calibur in my opinion, he was a great kickass anyway. But they divided Nightmare and then cut that line of plot to make some kind of twin fight. She was perfect because she had the innocent mind a lot to improve and evolve as a character. I always thought that in the end, Xiangua as the original carrier of Soul Calibur would fight Soul Edge in all its glory. I really didn't like it at all, it looked like crystalman or however he is called. I think that sophitia appeared but then it wasn't actually her or something, a kid corrupted, a lot of people killed for no reason, and the lack of some of my favorite characters. I remember that the story mode was more interesting. Then I wanted to try Soul Calibur V but I can't find my game so. I am still struggling about the ending for Amy. if you are lucky and they wrote something for your character. And what about the story mode? It's exactly an arcade mode with a full block of text at the start and two lines in the end. There are far less options to strike when fighting. The characters are soooo slow compared to this one. I don't know, it's not the way I remember. I loved the star wars characters but that game. Ok, driven by nostalgia I just installed my ps3 and played some soul calibur IV.
